About
Five Year Winter is a Nashville, TN based post-hardcore band blending the aggression and emotion of early 2000s post-hardcore and metalcore with a modern approach to songwriting.
The band’s debut EP, A Matter of Conviction, was released on May 9, 2026. The project was produced by 5x Grammy nominated recording and mixing engineer Nathan Yarborough (Deftones, Korn, Code Orange, Alice in Chains) and mastered by Machine (Lamb of God, Every Time I Die, Clutch).
Drawing influence from seminal acts including Glassjaw, Poison the Well, Norma Jean, and Underoath, A Matter of Conviction delivers a sound that balances heavy instrumentation, dynamic arrangements, and emotionally charged performances.
Five Year Winter has shared the stage with artists such as Vampires Everywhere!, Saving Vice, and Cultus Black, continuing to establish its presence within the heavy music scene.
As the band continues to evolve, Five Year Winter is currently writing its first full length album, shifting toward a more experimental post-hardcore sound inspired by bands such as At the Drive-In and Fear Before the March of Flames. The album is slated for release in mid-2027.
